Arab Countries Reaffirm Their Support for the Two-State Solution
An emergency meeting of the Arab League was held on Monday, February 8, 2021, in Cairo, Egypt. Organized at the request of Egypt and Jordan, this meeting focused on the Palestinian cause.
The Arab foreign ministers who took part in this extraordinary meeting emphasized their commitment to the two-state solution, which envisions an independent and sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel, and which is seen as a source of just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
“Saudi Arabia is committed to the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” affirmed Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Monday the 8th.

Charbel Wehbé, Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated during this meeting:
“Lebanon renews its commitment to the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative and insists on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, guaranteeing the preservation of our Arab identity.”

These recent statements by the Arab League regarding the two-state solution between Israel and Palestine are nothing new. Several political leaders around the world have previously expressed their commitment to a shared Jerusalem—that is, a Jerusalem controlled on one side by Israel and on the other by a future Palestinian state. Among these leaders are, among others, Scott Morrison and António Guterres.
“Australia recognizes West Jerusalem, where the Knesset and several government institutions are located, as the capital of Israel. West Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and we are considering moving our embassy there when it is practical to do so, in order to support the final status once it is determined,” declared Scott Morrison in December 2018.

Faced with such a destiny for the holy city—the city which God Himself chose to place His Name there (2 Kings 23:27, Zechariah 1:14)—what does the Bible say? What does the Bible say about the two-state solution advocated by the nations today?
What biblical prophecy says about the two-state solution
Joel 3:2
“I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”
The Bible foretold thousands of years ago that the city of Jerusalem would be divided among the nations; that Jerusalem would come under a shared arrangement between, on one hand, the nations supporting the Palestinian cause, and on the other hand, Israel. The Bible declared in advance that the consequence of the fulfillment of this human design would be God’s judgment upon the nations in the valley of Jehoshaphat—that is, the battle of Armageddon. Indeed, God, who beforehand chose the city of Jerusalem for His own glory, will not share it with anyone—particularly not with these nations—as He says: “I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy” (Zechariah 1:14).
The fulfillment of the prophecy concerning the two-state solution therefore constitutes a major sign of the times in these last days. Given that the nations are already dwelling on it, let us recognize that the time is at hand.
