Eternal Life

Introduction
May the name of our Creator Jesus Christ be blessed! He who calls us to live eternally at His side, to share in His glory, and to enjoy all His privileges. Jesus Christ did not hesitate for a single moment to leave His heavenly dwelling, His glorious throne, and come into this world so that through Him we might have Life forever. He who is God, Creator of all things, did not hesitate to strip Himself of all His glory — even to the point of humbling Himself before His own creature — so that you and I might have eternal life. Oh, how full of love is this Jesus Christ! He — Jesus Christ — did not hesitate to be beaten, lynched, spat upon, and struck to death so that you and I might have eternal life. Yes, Jesus Christ by His precious blood shed upon the cross has redeemed us from eternal death and freely given us eternal life. May praise, adoration, and thanksgiving return to Him alone, throughout all the ages. Amen!
In these last days in which we live, all that man increasingly aspires to is eternal life. The deep desire of man in these last days is simply to live forever. Whether one is rich or poor, free or slave, great or small — all anyone desires is to live eternally, to live upon this earth without end. No one desires death — not even for a single second. Yet every man, whoever he may be, is called one day to leave this earth through the gateway of death, despite all his aspirations to eternal life — according as it is written: "for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Genesis 3:19).
Death
When our God created man in the beginning, He created him to live eternally near Him. God's greatest desire for man was that he live forever — that he inherit His glory, His infinite riches, and enjoy all the works of His creation. Unfortunately, what should not have happened, happened: the fall, sin (Genesis 3:9–12).
Through the sin of man — Adam — at the beginning, all of creation became corrupted; through that sin, man lost all the glory of God that had clothed him. Through that sin in the beginning, man lost all the privileges he had with God — even his title as a legitimate son of God (Ephesians 1:5). Through the sin of man at the beginning, man was subjected to corruption and to vanity. It was through this same sin that the way of death was opened to man; the corruptible body that man acquired after the fall could no longer permit him to dwell eternally with God. From that moment onward, every man being bound to Adam is condemned to die because of sin — to return to the earth from which he was taken (Genesis 2:17). This is why children, adolescents, the young, and the old are all called one day to return to the ground — which is what death signifies.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Eternal Life
After the sin of man at the beginning and the death that followed, God did not leave man to fend for himself in sin. After the fall of man, God took no pleasure in seeing the man He had formed with His own hands perish or be separated from Him. After the sin of man in the beginning, our God — who is merciful, full of compassion, and abounding in goodness — very quickly found a plan of salvation for man. He very quickly found a means to deliver man from the death that was striking him. Conscious of the fact that He had created man to live eternally, God very quickly found a solution to put an end to that thing — death — which strikes every man. And that solution is Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Yes, it is Jesus Christ whom the Father found as the solution to the death that strikes men; it is Jesus Christ who was given to men so that through Him they might recover God's original plan: Eternal Life. Yes, it is Jesus Christ who was given to men so that they might be delivered from death and live forever. This is the very substance of God's love for us men, according to what is written in John 3:16 — that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 4:9–10
9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
It is therefore He alone — Jesus Christ — who was given to men so that they might return to the prospect of Eternal Life as God the Father had ordained from the beginning. Jesus Christ is that Eternal Life which was with the Father and came down to men so that they might have Life in Him — so that men might be snatched from the bonds of death (1 John 1:2). Without Him, men are deprived of life; without Him, there is no hope of eternal life. He who does not have Jesus Christ does not have Eternal Life either — he is therefore dead forever. He who believes in Him has life throughout all the ages.
1 John 5:11–13
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:20–21
20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Jesus Christ is therefore the one and only remedy against the death that has struck men since the beginning. He who believes in Him will never die — even though he were dead. Yes, even though he were dead — for this is the very will of God for all those who believe in His Son.
John 11:25–26
25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
John 6:39–40
39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Apart from Jesus Christ, therefore, there is no life; outside of Him there is no salvation. No man upon this earth can save himself without having believed in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. No man and no god can snatch man from the path of death — except the One who conquered death and the realm of the dead: Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:18). He alone saves; He alone gives salvation. Indeed, in the heavens, upon the earth, under the earth, beneath the oceans and seas, and everywhere else, only one Name has been given to us by which we are saved — by which we have Eternal Life: the name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:11–12
11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Far from Jesus Christ, there is death forever; far from Him there is chaos, darkness, nothingness.
Proverbs 8:35–36
35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD: 36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
Eternal Life is a person — and that person is Jesus Christ. Oh my brother! Oh my sister! Do you wish to live forever? Simply believe in Jesus Christ. Do you wish to live in the eternal glory that God has prepared? Truly accept Jesus Christ as your one and only Lord and your one and only Saviour. Risen three days after His death and living forever (Revelation 1:18), He will raise up in these last days all those who have faith in Him — and they will live forever with Him.
1 Corinthians 15:21–22
21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
A Call to Give Your Life to Jesus Christ
Beloved brothers and sisters — young men and young women alike — you who have had the privilege of reading this message: it is time for you to realize that in this world, you have only one Saviour: Jesus Christ. It is therefore time for you to call upon Him, if you have not yet done so. Indeed, the Word of God declares: "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). The time has come for you to open your hearts to Jesus Christ and to receive Him, if you have not yet done this. As you have just read in this message, all those who do not have Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour in their lives upon this earth are effectively dead — they have no hope of ever living again. Know, therefore, that for as long as you do not open your heart to God, or surrender your life to Him, you are dead in advance. This does not bring Him joy, nor is it His will. His will, as you have just discovered, is that every man be saved (1 Timothy 2:3–4).
Stop now placing your trust in gods that have neither eyes to see nor hands to touch — and turn to Jesus Christ. Stop trusting in these so-called "gods of our ancestors," and turn instead to Jesus Christ, the true God and eternal life. Cease now placing your hope in statues, in false gods, and in men made into gods. There is only one God: Jesus Christ (Isaiah 43:10). Abandon all those false gods and idols you are serving, and give your life to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Understand that all Jesus Christ wants is your salvation — to save you, His creature. All He wants is to give you eternal life. How many men and women die without having given their lives to Jesus Christ? How many men and women perish because of their refusal to believe in the one Saviour, Jesus Christ?
Oh dear brother, dear sister — you who are living in carelessness, taking pleasure in sin and living in disorder as you see fit: it is time for you to stop sinning, for the wages of sin is death. Abandon all these things and give your life to Jesus Christ right now.
Oh young men and young women — you who take pleasure in romantic entanglements, in alcohol, in drugs, in self-abuse, in abortion, in pornography, and in like things: the hour has come for you to renounce these things. For as long as you remain in these things, you will be deprived of the life of God and of the glory of God. Renounce sin and give your lives to Jesus Christ.
Oh men and women — you who take pleasure in serving the devil through witchcraft, magic, fetishism, freemasonry, and all forms of occult practice: it is time for you to understand that with Satan, what awaits you is eternal death. Satan never gives life; he himself is condemned to spend all eternity in the burning lake of fire and brimstone. Repent, give your lives to Jesus Christ, and you shall live.
And you, dear friend, who continues to doubt the existence of God: it is time for you to understand that the very fact that you breathe is living proof of the existence of a God — Jesus Christ (Isaiah 42:5). It is time for you to realize that without Him, you are nothing, and that you have no life. Give your life to Him, therefore, and you will live forever.
Oh my brother! Oh my sister! Choose Jesus Christ and you will live — choose Jesus Christ and your families will be saved (Acts 16:31). Choose Jesus Christ — Him alone. Above all, do not waste this opportunity He is giving you to receive Him.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Ezekiel 18:32
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Jesus Christ loves you!
