Introduction
Beloved in the Lord, it is with joy and thanksgiving that I wish to share with you this message on the Gospel of Jesus Christ — the Gospel by which every man comes to eternal salvation. I continually give thanks to God for having chosen in these last times to deliver us entirely from all manner of barren gospels — gospels that have no life in them and are founded upon nothing but the present age. May His name be blessed forever. Amen!
In these end times in which we live, a whole crowd of preachers and teachers has arisen, announcing and proclaiming various gospels other than that of Jesus Christ: a gospel of material and financial prosperity, a gospel of earthly happiness, a gospel of personal well-being, a gospel of the good life. In short, gospels based on the present age. All of this confirms that we are indeed at the last hour. Indeed, the Scriptures forewarned that at the last hour, a host of false teachers would arise, introducing sects and teaching pernicious things in order to draw the sheep of Christ after themselves. Through these kinds of gospels, many children of God have become captives of these preachers and run after them. In reality, all these preachers of earthly gospels do not belong to the Lord Jesus Christ — for the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not consist in this present age, but in the age to come. What, then, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ
To discover what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, let us begin by examining 1 Corinthians 15:1–5.
Verses 1-2: 1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
Note from the outset that the Bible — or if you prefer, the Apostle Paul — speaks here of a gospel he proclaimed, and by which those who received it are saved, if they hold fast to it as it was proclaimed to them. What is this gospel? The following verses give us the answer.
Verses 3-5: 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
The gospel that was proclaimed is that Christ died for our sins — that He was buried and rose again the third day. We therefore understand that the Gospel is the Death, the Burial, and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In other words, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Gospel founded upon the cross — nothing but the cross. In verse 2, we are told that this is the one and only Gospel by which we are saved, if we hold fast to it in the terms proclaimed. From this we further understand that all these prosperity gospels we hear here and there day after day — or any gospel other than that of the cross (the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ) — will never save us. Why? To answer this, I invite you to examine with me the three pillars — death, burial, and resurrection — that define the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Death of Christ
To preach the death of Christ is to preach Repentance. Indeed, if Christ died upon the cross, it was because of our sins (Romans 6:10). That being so, when we preach repentance, we are preaching the death of Christ; when we repent, we are conforming ourselves to His death. The question is: is repentance being preached in the churches? If today repentance is not preached in the churches, how can people come to salvation? A church that does not preach repentance or the forgiveness of sins is a dead church.
You will find communities that call themselves Christian — proclaiming that they belong to Christ — where repentance is not even preached; where people do not even know what repentance is; where you are told plainly that you have no need of repentance to be saved. What a lie! If you are in such an assembly where such blasphemies are preached to you, know that your leader is a veritable demon and that you belong to a sect. Do you know what was the very first message that the Lord Jesus Christ preached during His earthly ministry? Let us read Matthew 4:17.
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
It was, of course, repentance. And John the Baptist — what did he preach? Did he preach prosperity? Did he preach earthly happiness? Let us read Matthew 3:1–2 once more.
Matthew 3:1–2
1In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Beloved, know that the disciple is not greater than his master. If the Master preached repentance, what will the disciple do? Will he preach a gospel other than the one the Master taught him? Of course not! And yet, what are all those who claim to be disciples of Christ doing? They do nothing but preach to you about money, marriage, cars, businesses, and all the rest of their gospels founded on vanity. My beloved — wake up! Let us read Acts 2:37–38.
Acts 2:37–38
37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The question I put to you is this: did Peter say to these people, "Come to Christ and He will bless you"? Or did he say, "Come to Christ and He will change your social condition"? Or still, "Come to Christ and He will give you money, a spouse, a job"? He said to them "Repent" — because he knew that only the path of repentance could lead these men to God; Peter knew that only repentance could save the souls of all these men — not all the goods of this world. Moreover, it was the Lord's own commission to preach repentance to all nations, as we will see shortly.
Retain this therefore: all those you call great men of God — who do not preach repentance to you, or who even tell you that you have no need of repentance to enter heaven — are veritable wolves, veritable serpents and scorpions who have but one purpose: to take you to Hell. Know this from this moment onward: if you do not pass through repentance — the confession of your sins — you will never see heaven. Understand that in order to be among those who inherit heaven and the Kingdom of God, you must pass through repentance. Flee, therefore, all these gospels that speak of nothing but prosperity instead of repentance. Flee these gospels that fix your gaze upon yourself and not upon the cross.
Luke 24:45–47
45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
You who claim to be a servant of Jesus Christ — what gospel are you preaching at this time? Are you preaching Repentance and the forgiveness of sins, or prosperity? Are you preaching Repentance, or earthly comfort? Are you preaching the remission of sins, or financial enrichment? Did the Master commission the preaching of financial prosperity or of vanity to all nations? You will find assemblies where from Monday to Sunday, week after week throughout the year, nothing is preached but the riches of the world — where people are taught techniques and methods for supposedly becoming rich; where people are told they are bound and in need of daily deliverances. Hence these repeated deliverances, seven days a week. What madness! Others have even set up calendars declaring special days of deliverance — as if they had the authority to decide who would be delivered — and special days of healing and breakthrough. Understand this: whoever is born of God is free from all bondage whatsoever.
Through these earthly preachings, these broods of vipers have seduced and ensnared many of the Lord's sheep. Many children of God have thus become prisoners of these sons of the devil. It is therefore time to return to the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is time — it is time. Know also that you can receive all these earthly treasures and end up squarely in Hell. Besides, since these seducers began announcing such gospels to you, how many Christians have actually become multi-billionaires? On the contrary, the reality is that these same Christians to whom these things are preached only grow poorer — despite the thousands upon thousands of sermons on prosperity they receive, or the hundreds of thousands of prayers for financial breakthrough they pray.
The Burial of Christ
This is the second pillar of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it corresponds to water baptism. Through water baptism, every Christian conforms himself to the burial of Christ. Let us read Romans 6:4 and Colossians 2:12.
Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Colossians 2:12
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
It is astonishing to see to what extent, today, in certain churches — called great churches, as they are styled — water baptism is never preached. You will find people who call themselves Christians and who supposedly serve God without having been baptized; people who call themselves Christians and who aspire to salvation without having been baptized — because where they are, water baptism is not preached. You will find so-called servants of God who tell their congregants plainly — citing the case of the "thief on the cross" beside Jesus — that they have no need of water baptism to enter heaven; that it is not strictly necessary for them to be baptized in order to enter heaven. By such preachings, these false pastors seek to nullify the Word of Christ.
John 3:22
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
Mark 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Understand, therefore, that for as long as you do not have yourself baptized — when you have the opportunity to do so — you will end your course in Hell, even if you had traveled the whole earth proclaiming Christ, or even if you had performed miracle after miracle.
Let us return to the text of Acts 2:37–38.
Having thus conformed oneself to the death of Christ through repentance — the confession of sins — the next step is to conform oneself to His burial through water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us examine 1 John 5:6.
1 John 5:6
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
The question we may ask at this point is: why did Jesus Christ come with blood and water alone? Why did not banknotes flow out of Him when that soldier pierced Him? Simply because through His blood we have the forgiveness of our sins, and it is through the water that we are born again. Forgiveness restores our covenant with God and consequently saves us. Jesus Christ did not come with bags of money, cars, or worldly treasures — because He knows that none of these things can ever save us or give us eternal life; His blood alone is capable of that. Once again, understand clearly that the prosperity gospel is not of Jesus Christ — it is of Satan.
The Resurrection of Christ
To preach the resurrection of Christ is to preach the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Indeed, the resurrection of Christ was only made possible by the power of the Holy Spirit. After having conformed oneself to His death through repentance, and to His burial through water baptism, it is the Holy Spirit who subsequently gives life to our members. It is therefore lamentable to observe to what extent in certain churches — called great churches, as they are styled today — the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not even preached. For some of these preachers, the baptism of the Holy Spirit — or speaking in tongues — is foolishness. What blasphemy! Every assembly that denies the existence of the Holy Spirit and His gifts is a truly dead assembly — an assembly of demons. How do you expect to live a new life if you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit? How do you expect to see the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit if His baptism is not preached? How do you expect to have dominion over sin if you do not have the Spirit of God within you? Let us return to Romans 6:4.
Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
If the Spirit of God does not raise you up after the burial — water baptism — how do you expect to walk in newness of life? How do you expect to walk in newness of life if you do not conform yourself to the resurrection of Christ? Understand that if the old man is still speaking and acting in many so-called Christians, it is because they have never died with Christ, never been buried with Him, never been raised with Him. If sin still reigns in so-called Christian circles, it is because the people within those circles have never experienced the power of the death of Christ or of His resurrection. You therefore understand plainly that all those who bear the title of Christian without having passed through the cross are pagans — and their final destination will indeed be Hell.
Retain this once and for all: the gospels of material abundance that these seducers preach to you every day will NEVER bring you back to God, and will therefore never save you. Retain also that the Gospel IS Jesus Christ (Romans 1:1–3); that to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to preach His cross. To found the gospel upon anything other than the Cross is to lead men astray. It is only through the work of the Cross that men are delivered from sin. Money cannot liberate anyone from sin; the riches or treasures of the world cannot free man from sin.
To seduce you, these preachers of earthly gospels use phrases such as: a Christian ought to be rich; there is nothing wrong with a Christian having billions, villas, luxury cars. But what does the Bible say?
Luke 14:27
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Matthew 19:23–24
23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Luke 14:33
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Beloved, it is time for you to know who these men truly are — those who proclaim themselves servants of the Master Jesus Christ. For this, let us examine the following biblical text.
Philippians 3:18–19
18For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
These men you call great men of God are in reality people who walk as enemies of the cross of Christ — in the sense that they do not preach it: death, burial, and resurrection. Their god is their belly — not Jesus Christ — which is why they preach nothing to you but money, again and again money.
They promise you chain upon chain of blessings that in most cases never come; they promise you prosperity while in reality they are ruining you. And when all these promises fail to materialize, you begin calling God every name imaginable: God is a liar, God has let me down. Worse still, instead of these so-called gospels being free of charge, they charge you fees for healing and deliverance. They tell you that you need such and such a sum of money to see such and such miracles or blessings arrive. Some of them go so far as to put a price on repentance — when they pretend to preach it, in order to keep you under their yoke — telling you that after asking forgiveness, you must give such a number of dollars in order to seal the prayer and thereby prevent the devil from stealing it. Since when does one need banknotes to seal a prayer? Or since when has repentance been sealed with money? Which disciple in the Bible did you ever see engaging in such demonic practices? What seduction! Come out — come out, while there is still time — from these sects, from these churches of Satan. Know this: all these dead churches are nothing other than waiting rooms for Hell.
Instead of preaching the Truth to you — that is, Christ (John 14:6) — they traffic in you with flattering words because of the love of money they carry; instead of bringing you back to God through repentance, they turn you yet further from His ways. Understand that these so-called servants are playing upon nothing but your ignorance.
Retain this once and for all: these so-called prophets, pastors, apostles, and others who preach prosperity to you have for their god nothing but their belly — and not Jesus Christ — and they think only of the things of the world. 1 John 4:5 says this: "They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them." Be not surprised, then, that these Luciferians preach nothing to you but the things of the world — the present age — instead of the cross: it is because they themselves are of the world. But we — our citizenship is in heaven.
May the Lord bless you!
