Introduction
Glory be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for His infinite love and His mercy toward us — not only toward us, but toward all men who inhabit the earth. In His Son Jesus Christ we have refuge and support; in His Son Jesus Christ, we are without fear when the earth is shaken or when nations rise up against one another, for His faithfulness is a shield and a buckler to us. May honour and glory return to Him alone from everlasting to everlasting. Amen!
Dear brothers and sisters, may the Lord Jesus Christ our only Master and Saviour bless you abundantly with all His spiritual blessings. This day, my prayer is that He grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in His Word, according as it is written: "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalm 119:130). The teaching I wish to share with you concerns World War III. The question is not whether there will be a World War III or whether it can be avoided. The Bible prophesies that there will be a World War III in these end times — more precisely, before the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible bears witness that this war will begin in the Middle East; that it will be nuclear; and that it will kill a third of the current world population — that is, more than 2 billion people. The Bible further prophesies that it is in the aftermath of this war that the beast — commonly called the Antichrist — will appear; and that this appearance of the beast will result in the effective establishment of the world government. This war is therefore certain. Without further delay, let us begin by examining the seventh and sixth trumpets.
Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
We know that the Bible — and in particular the book of Revelation — speaks of seven trumpets, each of which is sounded by an angel. In this passage of Revelation 11:15, we see the seventh angel sound the seventh — that is, the last — trumpet; and at the sound of this last trumpet, the Bible tells us that "the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever." What does all of this mean? Or what is the event connected with this last trumpet?
Let us note first of all that there are two important facts associated with this trumpet: the handing over of the kingdom of the world to God, and His reign for ever and ever. Let us read Daniel 2:44–45.
Daniel 2:44–45
44And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
As we all know, the present world is under the dominion of men — that is, men (kings or presidents) hold dominion and authority over the nations. These men are, of course, under the bondage of Satan, who is the prince of this world (John 14:30; 1 John 5:19). When we see, at the sound of the last trumpet, the Bible declare that the kingdoms of the world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, what it is simply speaking of is the dethronement of these men — that is, the end of human government and of man's experience at the head of the nations. In other words, all these men who are at the head of nations will be stripped of their dominion, greatness, power, and reign by God, who will in turn establish His own kingdom — the Kingdom of Heaven — in which He will reign eternally. By the grace of God, we know that this can only take place at the coming or return of Jesus Christ.
Daniel 7:13–14
13I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
We therefore understand that the seventh — the last — trumpet speaks of the events connected with the return of Jesus Christ (the end of man's rule and the Kingdom of God). Now, to speak of the return of Jesus Christ at the last trumpet is also to speak of the Rapture of the Church at the last trumpet.
Revelation 10:5–7
5And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
1 Corinthians 15:51–52
51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
We can therefore conclude that the seventh — the last — trumpet is connected to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, and thus to the Rapture of the Church.
And what information does the sixth trumpet give us?
Revelation 9:13–19
13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
The sixth trumpet is connected to a great catastrophe that the human race will experience. We are told that a third of mankind is killed by this catastrophe. Verse 16 helps us understand more precisely what kind of catastrophe this is. We are told that the number of horsemen of the army is two myriads of myriads — that is, 200 million. Speaking prophetically, we know that horsemen symbolize soldiers or military forces (prophecy being written in symbols); from this we understand that the catastrophe responsible for killing a third of the earth's inhabitants is none other than a war. We can therefore conclude that the sound of the sixth trumpet is connected to a war that must kill a third of mankind and mobilize 200 million soldiers: this is World War III.
If therefore the sixth trumpet — which represents World War III — must sound before the seventh or last trumpet — which is connected to the coming of Jesus Christ and the Rapture of the Church — this means that a World War III is imminent and will take place before the Lord returns to take His Church. Be strengthened!
Let us therefore examine this World War III closely.
World War III
Revelation 9:13–18
At the sound of the sixth trumpet, we see the angel responsible for sounding it receive the order to loose the four angels that are bound at the river Euphrates. What is remarkable about these four angels is that they have a purpose within them: to kill a third of mankind. Who are these four angels? The Bible tells us in Hebrews 1:14 that angels are ministering spirits sent by God in service to those who are to inherit salvation (Daniel 10:12; Acts 12:7; Luke 1:26–27). Contrary to what one might suppose, there are angels who no longer carry out the original missions God entrusted to them: these are the angels who sinned against God in the beginning (Genesis 6:1–2). Among them are those whom God bound in the abyss (Jude 6; 2 Peter 2:4) for judgment — and also these four angels bound at the river Euphrates.
We therefore understand that these angels are no longer of God — they are fallen angels, that is, demons. And so when these four demons are loosed, they will kill a third of mankind. This is what verse 15 reports to us. However, in verses 17 and 18 we discover that in reality, a third of mankind is killed by the fire, brimstone, and smoke from the horses upon which riders are mounted. What does this mean? First of all, we know that prophetically speaking, when we speak of horses with armored riders bearing shields, this represents an army with its full military arsenal. Furthermore, observing in verse 18 that a third of mankind is killed by the fire, smoke, and brimstone issuing from the horses — the military arsenal — upon which the soldiers ride, we can already understand that these four demons will influence men to trigger this Third World War and to slaughter one another. From this we also understand that behind all the wars of which we are the victims upon this earth — World War I and II, for example — there are invisible forces operating in the background.
The Number of Soldiers in the War
Revelation 9:16
And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
Revelation 9:16 (English translation of the Louis Segond version)
The number of the horsemen of the army was two myriads of myriads: I heard the number of them.
Verse 16 speaks directly to us of the number of soldiers or military personnel who will be active during this World War III. The French version of the Bible states that the number of horsemen — soldiers — of the army will be two myriads of myriads: that is, 200 million. One myriad being equal to 10,000; a myriad of myriads to 10,000 × 10,000 = 100,000,000; and two myriads of myriads to 2 × 100,000,000 = 200 million. Which corresponds to two hundred thousand thousand, just as it is written in the King James Version. There, beloved, is the number of soldiers who will be mobilized during World War III. Naturally, no single nation will be able to provide this number of soldiers on its own; this will be the combined number of soldiers from all the nations that enter the war.
More Than 2.6 Billion People Will Be Killed
Revelation 9:18
By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Beloved, the Bible tells us clearly that during this war a third of mankind will be killed. Let us examine this closely. The current world population is more than 8 billion people. When we speak of a third of mankind being killed, this implies that more than 2 billion people on earth will meet death in the course of this last world war. Yes — more than 2 billion dead. Can you imagine the chaos this will generate? Can you imagine the turmoil and desolation this war will bring? Obviously, to kill more than 2 billion people, it will be necessary during this war to make use of weapons of mass destruction — most notably nuclear weapons — alongside conventional weapons.
From the twentieth century through to this twenty-first century, what mankind has developed at a staggering pace above all else is the capacity to kill — that is, the development of weapons of mass destruction: nuclear weapons (atomic and hydrogen bombs), intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of traveling from one continent to another, electromagnetic weapons, and more. And today everyone knows that if a world war breaks out, it will definitively be nuclear — and that will be catastrophic.

In verse 18, the Bible tells us that a third of mankind — more than 2 billion people — will be killed by fire, smoke, or brimstone. Let us look at this closely. More than 2 billion people killed by these three plagues — how is this possible? How can fire, smoke, and brimstone kill more than 2 billion people, if not through the explosion of an atomic bomb? Beloved, the Word of God is living! Did you know that a nuclear or atomic bomb explosion generates an immense quantity of heat, a sulfurous effect, and radioactive fallout? Did you know that the explosion of an atomic bomb generates a fire called nuclear fire — more devastating than any other fire — which destroys everything in its path? In the face of nuclear fire, all flesh is incinerated; in the face of nuclear fire, all skin falls away in shreds; the burns caused by this fire are extremely lethal, leading to death in a very short time. At the epicenter or impact zone of an atomic bomb explosion, ground temperature can exceed 4,000°C — instantly killing tens of thousands of people in the vicinity. Furthermore, every structure without exception is destroyed by the fire generated by the explosion of an atomic bomb; vegetation is reduced to ashes.
The smoke produced by a nuclear explosion is heavily laden with radioactive elements, automatically polluting the air. Breathing this air contaminated by such smoke is equivalent to inhaling a substantial quantity of radioactive matter, giving rise to a host of traumas, cancers, and diseases of every kind — which in turn lead to death within a very short time thereafter. You also know, as do I, that the wind contributes effectively to the dispersal of smoke, thereby increasing the area of impact and causing thousands more deaths. This same smoke — being extremely dense — can act as a kind of cover or barrier over the entire earth against solar radiation; the earth would then be plunged into total darkness, with temperatures dropping drastically, leading to the death of tens of thousands of further persons. This same smoke, mixing with the cold moist air of the atmosphere, can fall back to earth in the form of highly toxic — highly radioactive — acid rain. These highly radioactive rainwaters will fall upon rivers and waterways, or seep into the ground to reach underground water tables, rendering these waters deadly to all who drink them. In other words, tens of thousands of additional people will die simply from drinking these highly radioactive waters.
To better understand all of this, we need only refer to the history of the first atomic bomb dropped on the city of Hiroshima, Japan, during World War II. A single bomb of just over four tonnes was sufficient to reduce the entire city to ashes; a single bomb was sufficient to kill a large portion of the city's inhabitants. History tells us that more people were killed by the radiation than by the explosion itself.
Today it is absolutely certain that each of the actors who will be on the stage during this world war possesses nuclear weapons. Among them: the United States, Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, Israel, Iran, North Korea, India, and Pakistan — not counting the countries that host nuclear weapons on behalf of NATO: Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. Today it is absolutely certain that each of the actors on the stage during this last world war have already developed atomic bombs far more powerful than those of Hiroshima or Nagasaki — bombs that will cause far greater devastation than any yet witnessed. The proof: in 1961, the Soviet Union developed the most powerful nuclear bomb in all of history — known as the Tsar Bomba.
Today it is absolutely certain that most of the actors who will be on stage during this last world war possess no fewer than 20 atomic bombs. It is estimated that North Korea alone currently possesses 20 to 30 nuclear warheads; Israel 80 to 90; India 130 to 140; Pakistan 150 to 160; China 290; the United Kingdom 200; France 300; the United States approximately 6,185; and Russia 6,500 nuclear warheads or warheads. Virtually all of these nuclear warheads are deployed — that is, they are mounted on missiles and launch platforms (fighter aircraft, submarines, and others).
Imagine, then, brothers and sisters, that each of these countries presses the nuclear button. What will become of the world? What will become of the human race? You now understand why this war will kill more than 2 billion people. Fully aware that this last world war will be nuclear, most countries are currently constructing bunkers — that is, nuclear shelters. Such bunkers exist in the United States, Russia, Switzerland, Norway, and elsewhere.
May the Lord bless you!
